POND’S SUN PROTECT NON-OILY SUNSCREEN SPF 30 claims that it :

Helps prevent 5 sun damage problems

  • Skin darkening
  • Redness
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Dark spots
  • Fine lines

This sunscreen is supposed to be applied on cleansed face and other exposed parts of the body at least 15-20 minutes before stepping out in the sun. It is recommended to apply the sunscreen after 3 hours for better protection and in case of swimming and sweating re-apply after every 90 minutes.

PACKAGING

The sunscreen comes in a vibrant yellow coloured flip-flop plastic tube packaging which is quite simple but the product gets accumulated on the opening of the tube with regular squeezing of the sunscreen from the opening of the tube. But the packaging is travel friendly and it won’t create any issues if you intend to travel with this sunscreen tube.

FORMULA

This sunscreen is white in colour and is creamy in texture. It is not at all runny and as soon as you apply this sunscreen on to your skin it does feel as if it is going to leave behind a white cast. But the more you blend this sunscreen the more it gets absorbed into your skin without leaving behind any white cast as most sunscreens generally do. This sunscreen does not feel heavy, oily or greasy. In fact this is a very light weight sunscreen for daily use which gives optimal protection from sunrays. It has a mild chemically fragrance which might bother a few people but it does not bother me a lot. This sunscreen gets absorbed into the skin with a good massage and not very quickly as compared to other sunscreens. During the summer months, my skin gets oily easily but I have not felt that this sunscreen makes my skin even more oily or greasy. In fact it settles onto a matte finish which I absolutely love. I love the non-greasy finish of the sunscreen. Though this sunscreen is recommended for all skin types, I don’t think it is going to suit dry skin people very well. It will work for normal/combination/oily skinned people.

SPF FACTOR :

The sunscreen which comes in SPF 30 variant is suitable for everyday use when you have to spend a few hours getting exposed to the sun. SPF 50 variant would be beneficial if you are going to get exposed to the sunrays for a prolonged period of time or you intend to take this sunscreen on your holidays.

MY EXPERIENCE :

So far I have loved using this sunscreen by Pond’s. This is a good budget friendly option for those who do not want invest a lot of money but also want to purchase a good quality product. What I like the most about this sunscreen is its non-greasy formula and its light weight texture which does not feel heavy throughout the day. It works for my combination-to-oily skin pretty well and I definitely see myself purchasing a few more tubes of this sunscreen in future also. I definitely recommend this sunscreen to all those who are looking a good sunscreen in a budget.

However, I don’t see the tall claims of this sunscreen to prevent or reduce the appearance of fine lines and dark spots working for me. Also it does not help in reducing redness or skin darkening.

This sunscreen can easily be applied to all exposed parts od the body for sun protection without any oily, greasy feeling.
